So what is never knows best...? It is what Mamimi, from FLCL, has written on her cigarettes. And now, I co-opted it for this stupid blog.

I'm starting to come to the realization that maybe Seattle's radio isn't all that. I'm having a hard time sinking my teeth into KEXP and usually find it a little too eclectic for me (kinda like a tamer verison Berkeley's KALX, but still way too weird).
So, with my recently re-connected PC and my newly set up Qwest internet, I set about setting up Live 105 streaming, so I could listen to Soundcheck and back to some familiar ground. Except it turns out that most (all?) Infinity radio stations have switched from using relatively simple audio players into a fancy flash player thing called STREAMTHEWORLD. Which obviously sucks because I don't like using a flash player thing to play my streaming radio, I like foobar or mplayer or Windows Media Player.
With some research I come up with http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/asx/KITSFM.asx, but unfortunately that gives me stuttered garbage. Oddly though, when I download the refrenced URLs in the playlist (with wget) and then replay the file with mplayer it works like a champ. So, I think the stream may be sending incorrect header info (or no header info)... I guess I'll have to dig deeper into how this whole streaming radio stuff works...
