So what is never knows best...? It is what Mamimi, from FLCL, has written on her cigarettes. And now, I co-opted it for this stupid blog.

Thoughts about the Teradata conference:
- It's way too hot and humid
- The food sucks. Hotel buffet food is still hotel buffet food, even if they dress up the conference hall with themes and such.
- There are way too many bugs. Mostly these

- Playing minature golf at 10:30 at night is a bad idea because it's way too hot and humid
- The Disney resort hotels aren't that great even though I was paying $350+ per night. Basically you get Disney related cable TV in your room (so I ended up watching a lot of ESPN).

Youkoso! Hitori Bocchi [Pearl Brothers]

I think I'm messing up the roof of my mouth by eating too much hard candy at work. I have a couple of tender patches on the roof of my mouth from sucking on Jolly Ranchers for the past 3 weeks, and I'm probably messing up my teeth as well by trying to chew them every now and then (it doesn't really work and they just end up stuck on your teeth). On the plus side, I don't think anybody else in my cube row likes Jolly Ranchers, so the bag I got is lasting longer than other candies (namely chocolate stuff). But just to be safe and give my mouth a rest I bought a bag of Starbursts to be the next candy I leave around outside my cube. Starbursts are usually softer than Jolly Ranchers at least...

Oh and randomly I got a bunch of travel mug filled candy mailed to me by my department today. It's mostly cheap/crummy candy that I don't like that much though (Sweet Tarts, some generic lolipops, some company branded Dentyne Ice-knockoffs, Now & Laters, etc.). And that makes it I think 7 company branded plastic travel mugs (plus 1 I accidentally stole from somebody else) I've gotten in my 2 years working here.

Canon Rock [JerryC]

Kinda late to the party. I only heard about this guitar version of Pachelbel's Canon because of they mentioned it on NPR (and played a clip of it of course), and oddly enough it was in a correction to a previous story they ran about some Korean guy playing the song (news story) that I heard it. So apparently JerryC was the original person who did it, and it's now getting more widespread because he released the tablature for it. Now all aspiring electric guitar players can play a pretty nice/interesting version of Canon in D.
