So what is never knows best...? It is what Mamimi, from FLCL, has written on her cigarettes. And now, I co-opted it for this stupid blog.

Lost In The Supermarket [The Clash]
More random Mayday (too lazy to do Chinese right now) related stuff, while atually looking for The Pillows related stuff:
She apparently also had a concert write up for the San Jose Mercury News too, but I guess I missed it in my non-newspaper reading'ness. Thing is I don't really like her articles, from ones I remember reading before they seem to be a little to centered on and nice to pop acts to me (i.e. comparing to Good Charlotte is a pretty mean thing to say about a band to me, but she might think of it as a compliment).
I went into the concert unsure how they would sound live, but they rocked! Like a true pop band, Mayday changed five times from furry Mongolian robes to golden vests. They pounded on Chinese drums, sang love ballads and sang a duet dueted with Malaysian singer Fish Leong.

I Love You 无望 [五月天]
Tylenol Cold Daytime is bad stuff. I used to remember it not sucking, but it sure does now. While it does clear my nasal congestion, which is actually most of what my cold is, it makes me feel rather light headed and crummy.
Crumminess v. Runny nose. And somehow crumminess wins out because I hope that taking this stuff also makes my cold end sooner, thus getting rid of the need to take more Tylenol Cold Daytime. Logic at its best!

Unconditional [The Bravery]
Got back from 五月天 concert last night. Even though we had to stand outside in the pouring rain for 2 hours, it was still fun (apparently doors open at 8:30 for a 7:30 show?). Total lack of Taiwanese comprehension and somewhat lack of Chinese comprehension, didn't deter me either, especially because Amy served as useful all purpose translator, plus the music was good anyways. Just mentioned lack of Chinese skills was further brought to light as I read a Chinese bedtime story (about the invention of the modern day pencil) and was getting tripped up on the combination of 注音符號 and 漢字 while trying to read it to her. Well 30 minutes to finish a 2 pages of very light reading is something at least.

Misguided [Styrofoam]
Really informative, even to me.
I always just assumed that those kiddies just made up terms and they weren't really related to any real words. Them crazy kids these days with their lack of spelling and grammar skillz.
"pwn": A typo-deliberate version of own, a slang term that means to dominate. This could also be spelled "0\/\/n3d" or "pwn3d," among other variations. Online video game bullies or "griefers" often use this term.
From A parent's primer to computer slang

Look Up [Stars]
The Killers tickets on sale on Sunday. I did drive up to SF to buy those Puffy AmiYumi tickets, and I guess I should do the same for this, but I have a feeling that there will be crowds of people. After all, I did already see them live back in May. But they were good live, so I guess I should go see them again.

Circus [Jen Wood]
Dream from 3 days ago:
"No hard feelings, right?" She asks.
"Of course not, Nick is uncommonly nice about all sorts of things." I reply, while thinking about whether I actually mean it or not. I decide it doesn't matter.

Empty Girl [Noodles]
I have just been informed that The Pillows are going to be touring the US, well West coast at least, with Noodles. Noodles being a Japanese band that my brother turned me on to, and who unbeknownst to me is produced by one of the guys from The Pillows.
It looks the tour is being put together because they are going to be in the US for South by Southwest. Now that's a good music festival, too bad it is even pricier than Coachella, and I think they generally frown upon the general public from viewing the music part. Student tickets are Coachella priced though, for a heck of a lot more bands, somewhat more interesting bands in my opinion too.
But, I'm happy enough to just have those two Japanese bands swinging around to the Bay Area. As the FLCL fan that I am, it behooves me to go.
