So what is never knows best...? It is what Mamimi, from FLCL, has written on her cigarettes. And now, I co-opted it for this stupid blog.

I Melt With You - Nouvelle Vague
I went to the rarest of rare fast food chains, a KFC - A & W combination store. Considering the rareity of A & Ws (in my experience at least, they are rare), I was compelled to eat there.
The food was ok. I was thinking with the first couple bites of the burger that it was pretty decent, but after eating some fries, the burger got kinda cold and became very average. Fries are pretty generic too, kinda like a crispier Burger King fry. Having A & W root beer on tap is nice, there were no suds at all. I remember in my younger days, me and my friends would argue about which brand of root beer was better, Mugg or A & W (there might have been a third in the mix too, but I can't remember it if there was). Sadly, I don't really recall which camp I stayed in, it probably doesn't matter too much anyways because I don't really like root beer too much. But, A & W straight from the tap is still tasty every now and then.
If there's one thing to be said for the food in Contra Costa county it's that they have got their fast food restaurants taken care of. I don't think there's any chain that has any significant Northern California presence that is missed. Plus you get kinda rare things like a Del Taco and an A & W - KFC. If there was a Yoshinoya too that would just makes things complete, this area would truly be the capital of all fast foods. Yoshinoya is after all what replaced the venerable A & W of my youth in Cupertino (of course I never went to it back when it was still open, and never go to Yoshinoya either for that matter).
