So what is never knows best...? It is what Mamimi, from FLCL, has written on her cigarettes. And now, I co-opted it for this stupid blog.

Mere Your Pathetique Flight [Mono]
Adventures in home stereo repair: last December my parent's TEAC mini system's CD tray mechanism thing broke, and they had some CDs trapped in it, so as the "more technical" son I was given the job of fixing it. So, dutifully I went ahead and attempted to take it apart. I think it was a 2 day affair to try to get the case open, there were just so many different parts that had to be unscrewed and taken apart at different stages to even somewhat get to the CD tray. I am basically just unscrewing any screw I see and then attempting to pull the stupid case apart, it is not nice enough of a piece of electronics for me to bother being too gentle with it. But, in the end I could not get to the CDs, and I was left with a partially dismantled stereo with no real want to put it together again. So, to the closet with it, and there it sat. Until today, when I decided I would try my hand at it again. And would not you know it, but as I pulled it out of my closet, the cover over the CD tray came off and I finally got to the CDs. CDs successfully removed, I went about trying to put it together. Now, it has been a long time since I took it apart, so I did not exactly remember which screw went with which hole, but I think I got it mostly right, the only thing that did not get put back together was the AUX inputs, they can just rot in there cause they did not want to stay put. Stereo now mostly assembled, I plug it in and everything works, even that finnicky CD tray, hurray! Too bad it makes an annoying humming noise now whenever it is on, but non working stereo in pieces sitting in my closet to humming, badly assembled stereo is something I will still count as a victory.
