As of a couple days ago, Ars Technica took out the www preface from its URL. I really do not get what is up with sites that do this, I am okay with Slashdot being that way because it has always been that way for me, but Ars Technica's most recent change, I used to hyphenate the URL too, just bugs me. I always thought that the www was an important part of the URL, I will read into the standards and relevant RFCs when I have time. Pithy little changes like this make me want to know why they changed.
